Pro-vitamin B5, a gentle humectant and skin-conditioner that soothes, softens and supports healing skin and hair.

What it is

Panthenol is the alcohol form of vitamin B5. In the skin it converts to pantothenic acid, a component of coenzyme A, which is central to how cells build and repair their lipid membranes. It is both a humectant (it attracts water) and an emollient (it softens).

How it works

Soothes and supports repair

It has a well-documented calming effect on irritated skin and supports the skin's own barrier-repair processes, which is why it appears throughout gentle and post-cleansing formulas.

Softens hair and skin

In hair it penetrates the shaft and improves softness, flexibility and shine; on skin it leaves a smooth, comfortable finish without heaviness.
